Big Black Bart Bunny on the Move

Here’s Big Black Bart strolling on the lawn in his Halloween costume!

We were lucky it was warm enough this October for Bart to enjoy the outdoors by this beautiful fall display.

Over the years, Bart has won 8 out of 11 actual tortoise and the hare races with real, live rabbits at places like the Somerset County and Cape May County 4-H Fairs, the Ocean City Quiet Festival, and Cape May Point State Park’s Critter-Festival.

Turtle Shells: Pumpkin Shells

Rocky and Gracie dressed up as pumpkins for Halloween while Bart looked on!

Tortoises are known to enjoy eating pumpkins! To see an African Giant Spurred tortoise munch on a Jack-O’-Lantern, go to Youtube at: https://youtu.be/r6zl3XvH47Y

Our tortoises Bart and Gracie enjoy eating summer squash (and Bart also eats eggplant).

Their costumes are courtesy of the Prayer Shawl group at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Villas, New Jersey.

Vampire Gracie

We think Gracie looks like a vampire in this photo!

The “blood” is actually blueberries.

This photo was taken at the Margate Fall Funfest!

Another Turkin: BOO-tiful!

Here’s this year’s turtle Halloween card from some of our favorite turtle people.

We’re participating in a healthy way in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church’s Trunk or Treat today in Villas, New Jersey, with Turtlesinger turtles Rocky and Gracie in their pumpkin Halloween costumes and in our turtle-themed, Halloween-decorated car.

Of course, we’ll be wearing turtle hats (and Halloween face masks).

Happy Shelloween from all our turtles, thanks as always for reading, and a very Happy Halloween to you!
