Hibiscus on a Stick!

Here you can watch Big Black Bart eat another favorite treat on a stick in honor of National Something On a Stick Day: a hibiscus blossom!

Bart also loves eating other flower blossoms, including day lilies. He enjoys eating dandelion flowers from our lawn, too!

Blueberry for Bart!

Bart is crazy about eating blueberries on a stick! We often refer to them as blueberry lollipops: perfect for National Something On a Stick Day!

Blueberry for Bunny Bart!

Here Bart eats a blueberry on a stick in an outfit perfect for the upcoming Easter Holiday.

This photo was taken at Kindle Ford in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. For 12 years, Kindle Ford generously hosted the registration for Turtlesinger, Inc.’s CMCBMPRFTT: Cape May County Benefit Motorcycle Poker Run For The Turtles! Many, many motorcycle riders have enjoyed feeding Big Black Bart blueberries and trumpet flowers over the years.

Open Wide…

Gracie opens wide for a blackberry on a stick! This photo is one of the photos on our 2022 Turtlesinger Calendar, and you can look at all of the photos by clicking the Turtlesinger Calendar link on our home page. If you hover over each photo, they slowly enlarge in front of your eyes!

We’re already excited about gathering photos for our 2023 Turtlesinger Calendar, as we saw and photographed (and videoed) our first wild turtles of the year on Friday during the exceptionally warm weather!

Gracie also enjoys eating from a spoon!

Messy But Delicious

Gracie can make a big mess eating her food…but she really enjoys it!

Gracie and Bart also love their bath soaks, when they can get cleaned off and absorb water through their skin, too. Bart has loved soaking in mud puddles outdoors after a good rainstorm.

Some things do seem like more fun eating from a stick. On National Something On a Stick Day, we can think of several things fun to eat from a stick: shish-ke-babs, popsicles, ice cream, candy apples, corn dogs, and lollipops. Our turtles offer more fun and healthy alternative foods on sticks, including watermelon, grapes, zucchini, summer squash, mushrooms, and tomatoes!

Thanks as always for reading and for celebrating National Something On a Stick Day in a turtle way with us!
