Turtle Birthday Party!

Here’s a wider shot of the one you saw to get here, with Gracie and her friend Jeremy at Gracie’s Public Birthday Party at Cape May Point State Park!

Jeremy’s in college now!

Gracie’s birthday has been celebrated numerous times over the years with hundreds of people at Turtlesinger Shows.

Gracie has demonstrated a lot of star power over the years. To see some shots of her holding sway over some very interested campers, SCROLL DOWN...

Star of the Show

Here Gracie has no problem holding the attention of all those around her at Camp Cape May, New Jersey, where we’ve performed for 20 years now.

She also has no problem holding the attention of both Rocky and Big Black Bart! Little Rocky and Big Black Bart fight over her: and Rocky always wins the fights (we are not making any of this up).

Gracie’s Good Side

Here Gracie prepares to take a stroll down the catwalk (or picnic table) at Camp Cape May.

We love showing our turtles to animal lovers of all ages.

Gracie is a Travancore tortoise. She hatched here in the U.S., but her species is native to southern India.

Gracie has laid 9 eggs in her lifetime, and they are huge eggs—bigger than large chicken eggs!

Having a Good Laugh

Gracie appears to be laughing in this shot at Camp Cape May!

Although turtles don’t laugh like people and can’t even smile due to the fact that they don’t have lips, Gracie is probably pretty happy here as she has just been fed one of her favorite foods: a blueberry.

All of our 4 Turtlesinger Turtles have achieved fame in one way or another, and to see one way Gracie became famous, SCROLL DOWN...

Gracie’s Claim to Fame

As you can see here, Gracie made the cover of The New York Times Arts & Leisure section!

Gracie was featured with our other turtles as part of a celebration of turtles at Belvedere Castle in Central Park (near the turtle pond, of course) called Fandango de Tortugas! I sang my turtle songs that day in Spanish.

We also did an interview with NY1 TV in conjunction with the event.

Finally, for another photo of a more local Gracie birthday party celebration, SCROLL DOWN...

Birthday Blueberry

Gracie loves to eat blueberries at Turtlesinger Shows! This birthday celebration for Gracie was held at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Villas, New Jersey.

Gracie and our other turtles probably find it strange to not be doing Turtlesinger Shows. Last year before Covid, we celebrated Gracie’s birthday with 3 school assemblies!

Big Black Bart seems to miss the attention the most, as he loves being hand fed with sticks in public.

We thank you as always for reading, and for celebrating Gracie’s 32nd birthday with us today!
