Cuddly Turtle at Christmas

At Christmas time, a great big plush turtle rests on our Christmas quilt.

This turtle was a Christmas present from our nephew, David.

2020 Turtle Christmas Card

We provide a turtle Christmas card or create a Turtlesinger Christmas card every year.

Here’s this year’s card!

It’s not always easy finding an outfit small enough to fit Rocky, our small but mighty 3-toed box turtle…

But here he rocks (pun intended) his Christmas antlers!

Biker Turtle Christmas Card!

We liked to thank all our generous riders who came out to support turtles when we ran the Cape May County Benefit Motorcycle Poker Run for the Turtles for 12 years.

The riders all loved seeing and feeding Big Black Bart! They especially loved seeing him push his barbell while wearing his special mascot biker belt.

When it is safe again, we hope to bring all our turtles with their biker outfits to the annual Roar to the Shore Motorcycle Rally in nearby Wildwood, New Jersey once again to remind riders to stop for turtles on the roads.

Here is one of the cards we sent to our faithful supporters.

A Hawaiian Turtle Merry Christmas!

One year, we featured this candy turtle Christmas card, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas in Hawaiian.

We were lucky to be able to visit beautiful Oahu and to see and kayak with sea turtles.

In Hawaii, turtles are considered sacred.

Turtle Christmas Wreath!

If you look closely, you’ll see that this is no ordinary Christmas wreath…

It’s composed entirely of red-eared slider turtles!

This was a card from our good friends Bonnie & Skip: and now we hang it every year.

Turtle Card at Sunset!

This framed card was a gift from my sister, Kathy.

It’s actually a beautiful silver and white card, but when the sunset caught it the other night, I couldn’t resist taking a picture.

The sunset glow makes it orange and makes everything shine!

Glass Christmas Turtle!

This beautiful glass turtle was a gift from our Aunt Florence. It was originally filled with seashells. Then we decided to make it an all-occasion turtle!

On Valentine’s Day it contains hearts. On St. Paddy’s Day it contains glittering shamrocks. At Easter, it contains easter eggs. On Patriotic holidays it’s filled with red, white and blue. In the fall, it contains orange, red and yellow autumn leaves.

And here, at Christmas time, we fill it with various Christmas ornaments!

Santa Turtle!

I really can’t remember where this adorable vintage turtle came from…but we love it and put it out at Christmas time every year. Trust me when I say I could fill an entire year with blogs of Christmas turtles we have all around the house. So, you’ll just have to wait until next Christmas to see more.

Someone recently wished me “a gentle Christmas” and I loved that. It brings to mind all the hibernating turtles sleeping gently under water, dirt and leaves all over Cape May County and wherever it gets cold in the wintertime.

So, we thank you as always for reading, and we and Santa Turtle here wish you all such a gentle--and at the same time very Merry--Christmas!
